 Why would anyone want to rent a house that is on a small lot 
looking at other houses when you have a chance to rent this 
spectacular two and a half acre place!! This  historic one of a kind 
estate offers a glimpse of Key Largo as it was at the turn of the 
century and is perfect for large groups. 
  With its original Dade County hard wood floors, sinks in every 
room, and unique pocket slider windows, these houses offer the 
vacationer a chance to step back in time and experience the charm and
a kick your shoes off environment of days gone by. 
  Both houses have been upgraded with  air-conditioning and 
amenities yet retain the delightfulness that the past 
offered. "Shadow Point" named for the beautiful changing shadows and 
light on Largo Sound which you can experience through out the day is 
a dream for vacationers. It is on the ocean side of Key Largo and 
was built in 1917 by a Chicago Industrialist for his fishing 
friends. 
  Today it offers the same relaxed atmosphere and seclusion. It is 
located on a hammock point filled with lush tropical trees such as Mahogany,
Buttonwood, Gumbo Limbo, Lignum Vitae and Key Lime. It offers a 260 
degree view of pristine Key Largo Sound. This estate is an 
exclusive retreat for those desiring an intimate and private 
setting. 
  Departing from our docks you can enjoy back country, bay 
side, creek and offshore fishing with tarpon, bonefish, grouper, 
dolphin and sailfish. If you prefer, visit the many sights within 
the Key Largo Sanctuary and dive some of the most spectacular living 
coral reefs remaining in the U.S. You can visit John Pennekamp Coral 
Reef State Park right down the road with boats available for fishing 
and snorkeling. 
  Bring your own boat and dock it at our deep water 
dock with electric and water. Best of all you can do nothing but 
relax on over two and a half fenced in acres and enjoy nature and 
solitude.
   The main house has four large bedrooms with twin beds in each 
room and one with a king and private bath. The  large kitchen is 
user friendly and perfect for viewing the lovely trees and  the 
water while sipping coffee. The dining table can seat fourteen for 
great family gatherings. A large breezy porch with hammock and 
two daybeds runs the length of the house and has a panoramic view of 
the water. The cottage has two bedrooms that each contain two twin 
beds, and there is a queen pullout couch in the livingroom. There is 
a small kitchen with a freezer and lovely porch with a panoramic 
view of the water. This vacation rental is perfect for 
boaters, kayakers, canoeers, divers, and fishermen along with being 
large enough for family retreats, workshops, weddings, and film 
shoots. 
   Both houses rent together or the main house may be rented 
separately depending on amount of people in your party. It is 
approximately one hour from Miami International Airport,and located 
around mile marker 103.

Activities and Attractions

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State part is 1 mile south on US 1.

Swim with the Dolphins is on the bay side two miles south.

Ocean Reef Club and Golf Course is north about 15 miles.

There are many fun and unique shops to visit, and you can always 
plan a trip to Key West for the day and cross the  famous seven mile 
bridge.

Vacation Rental Rates

Rent for both houses start at $3800 a week. In 2009 the rates with increase.  

The cottage with 2 bedrooms rents only upon rental of 
the main house.  The large house with 4 bedrooms rents for $3400 a week for 
eight people or less. Together they rent for $3800 a week. We prefer 
to rent the cottage with the large house so you can experience total 
privacy and seclusion. Monthly rentals are $12,000 depending on 
season. There is a $75 
charge for each person exceeding 12.  Security deposit 
required. Place will not be held until a deposit is received. E-mail
