Located in the heart of "horse country," Bear River Ranch offers easy access to many scenic trails (including training for Tevis trails and other endurance and XP multi-day events), canyons, and the American and Yuba Rivers. Bear River Ranch is close to the Western States Trail, which is great training for endurance riding.

The beautifully decorated guest rooms offer king and queen-sized beds, full baths, and all the comforts of home, including WIFI internet access, TV, or just lounging on one of our many picturesque decks to embrace the tranquility and panoramic beauty - all this and a delicious Expanded Continental Breakfast Buffet available at your convenience from 8 - 10 a.m. daily, served in our dining room with beautiful views of our horses romping through the pastures and our gardens. • Rates are for single or double occupancy and include an Expanded Continental Breakfast Buffet available at your convenience.
• For each additional adult, please add $35 to the rate; children 17 and under, please add $25; and for infants and toddlers 3 and under, there are no additional charges.

  • Honeymoon Suite: $160/nt.
  • Garden View Suite: $135/nt.
  • Blue Room (best view of the horses!): $125/nt for 2 people, $165/nt for 4 people.
  • $350/night for all three rooms up to 8 people.
  • $395/night for all three rooms for 10 people.
• In order to secure the reservation, we require a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) to which we will charge one night's stay or 50% of your total stay (whichever amount is greater). Your advance payment guarantees all days of your stay.
• Due to our intimate size, cancellations affect us significantly. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
  • Should you need to cancel all or part of your reservation, we must receive notice no less than 7 days prior to your current scheduled arrival date.
  • All cancellations are subject to a $25 processing fee.
  • Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to your current arrival date will be non refundable and you will be responsible for payment of any nights not resold, unless your accommodations are resold for all portions of your stay or you will be responsible for any room nights we are unable to resell.
  • This policy pertains to early check outs as well.
  • A two night minimum stay is required on most weekends if Saturday is included. Long weekends generally require a minimum stay of three or more days.
  • Holiday and Special Event dates are subject to a thirty (30) day cancellation policy.

At Bear River Ranch, we're totally committed to your horse's comfort and your peace of mind. That commitment is evident in our facilities:

Our state-of-the-art breezeway barn contains four 12' x 12' stalls and 12' x 12' turnouts, tack room, and office. Black rubber mats and comfy shavings in each stall help insure added comfort for your horse. The stalls are designed so each horse can see the other horses, encouraging a healthy social atmosphere.

The state-of-the-art breezeway barn's interior is equipped with a foaling stall, secure tack room, office, refrigerator, and hot and cold running water. It additionally features an Orion lighting system that mimics natural light in all daylight conditions. Your horse will feel at home in a "natural" setting that creates a wonderful atmosphere for both horse and rider.

Bear River Ranch also features an all-weather, lighted 180' X 80' sand arena for training, practice, or just fun, a lighted 50-foot round pen, pasture turnout, and a training track with an obstacle course that circles the perimeter of our 30-acre property. Our lighted 6-mare motel is 12' x 24' and half-covered. Other amenities include two wash racks (one with hot water) and plenty of space for horse-trailer parking.

Especially important for your horse's health, is our on-site veterinary clinic. Dr. J.A. White, DVM, is on-site and ready to take care of any and all of your horse's health needs.

Bear River Ranch focuses on your horse's freedom and well-being. Pasture horses will instinctively establish their place in the herd and rapidly familiarize themselves with their surroundings. This is a wonderful opportunity for horses that have never enjoyed running uninhibited in wide, open spaces. Plus, we recognize that each horse has different needs, and are dedicated to providing for those needs without limiting their freedom.

Pets Welcome

We are happy to accommodate house-trained, good natured pets and we also accept well-behaved pet owners, particularly if their pets can vouch for them. For our pet fee of $25 per night, we provide a basket with:

If you plan to bring a pet(s), you must notify us at the time you make your reservation, as pets are allowed in designated "Pet Friendly" rooms only. We charge a $25 fee for bringing a pet, per pet, per day.

1. We ask that you not leave your pet in your guest room unattended. If there is a time you will not have your pet with you, let us know so that we can give you phone numbers for pet friendly restaurants, pet sitter or other options.
2. You are responsible for your pet(s) behavior. We have an outdoor grassy area and trash receptacle available for your use. Pets must remain on leashes or under owner command at all times while on ranch property.
3. We will provide you with a sheet to cover the bed linens, should your pet sleep on the bed with you. Feel free to bring your pet's favorite blanket or bed as well.
4. Please don't leave your pet alone in your room. If pet sitting is desired, it can usually be arranged with advance notice, at a rate of $10-15/hr.
5. We like that pet owners use Frontline for pest control so their animals are more comfortable!
6. Aggressive dogs are not accepted, nor are young pups. Your loving pet must be good around other people and like all dogs. We ask larger dogs be restricted to 90 pounds , Pet owners will be responsible for any damages, injury or lost revenue that may be caused by your pet.
