Welcome to Dog Daze! We are located in the premier community, the Currituck Club, in the Hammock's section, and as you can see, we are dog friendly.
The house is warm and welcoming, with comfortable furniture and beach decor. This gated community has paths for biking, running and just good old walking the dog! We are close to great restaurants (try Smokey's, Route 12 and North Banks in Timbuck II, as well as the great shopping and restaurants in Duck. The Currituck Heritage Park is just up the road, with the lighthouse, Whalehead Club and historic Corolla Village. Got a 4 wheel? Visit the Corolla Wild Horses on the 4 wheel drive beach. Lots of activities in the Outer Banks area for you to enjoy.
Our two Cairn Terriers, Harry and Emily know when they are going to their "other house" as soon as they get in the car. They love the deck views, multiple walks every day around the Currituck Club and the beach (which is also dog friendly). Don't be surprised to find that many of the business owners welcome dogs and bring their own dogs to work. Enjoy the weekly "Yappy Hour" at Outer Barks in Duck.
Humans have a great time as well. Don't feel like sightseeing? Just curl up with a book in any of the rooms (the king bedrooms and tower room have great chairs for comfortable reading or watching TV. Or, relax on the porch swing, or any of the numerous rocking chairs, chaise lounges or other outdoor seating. Cook out on the Weber grill and enjoy meals at the picnic table on the lower deck.
The large dining room table is perfect for those large crab cracking dinners or for Thanksgiving or Christmas family dinners.
The Great Room has surround sound, and a 32" TV with DVD, VHS and CD player. If you visit when the weather is cool, enjoy the gas fireplace. Harry and Emmy just curl up right on the floor in front.
The Tower Room offers a 3rd floor retreat with private bath and closet. In all, the house has 4 1/2 baths, 2 of which are connected to master suites.
Visit the fitness center, play volleyball and tennis, just unwind and de-stress. The Outer Banks is famous for the great beaches and the warm sparkling blue waters. Say hi the pods of dolphins you will see from the beach. Don't forget to sky watch at night.
We have a Garage for one car, and parking for 2 additional cars. Two levels, reverse floor plan, with porches/decks on both levels. Two full baths on first level, with a twin bedroom with DVD and TV - direct access to front and back decks. There is a king bedroom with a comfortable chair and reading lamp, as well as TV and DVD.
First floor - Queen Master with TV and DVD, full bath with separate dressing area. Rear entrance to back deck with chairs and picnic table, leading to private pool, hot tub and chaise lounges in the fenced in back yard. Laundry room with washer and dryer.
Main living area (second floor) has open floor plan and soaring ceilings. Many windows allow for an ocean and sound view. Dining table seats 10, and there is a breakfast bar with 4 chairs, as well as a lovely breakfast table with 4 chairs. Powder room.
Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, ice maker and water filter in refrigerator. Great room has large TV, DVD, surround sound, DVD and VCR. Comfortable seating and beach decor, with gas fireplace in season. Two zone air-conditioning.
Large Master bedroom on this level, with king bed, chair and ottoman and reading lamps by the bed and the chair. Door from this room opens to screened in front deck, with rockers and Adirondack chairs and tables for relaxation. Private bath with dual sinks, shower and garden tub.
Tower room on third level, with comfortable Day bed and trundle, full bath, closet, two upholstered rocker/glider chairs. Sliders open to balcony with commanding view of sound and ocean.
Sunsets are mesmerizing from the interior and the rear decks. If you visit in August during the Persid Meteor Shower, you are in for a special treat! The open sky at night provides a clarity of the universe not often seen in metropolitan areas!
Home backs up to a common park area designed for play, and provides privacy to the home and pool area. Your dog will thank you for this wonderful vacation home.

Private Pool and Hot Tub. Porch swing, Decks surround the house, with Envirowood deck furniture, including chaises, rockers on front and back porch, adirondack chairs, and picnic table and chairs. Weber grill, screened in front porch, pool area is fenced in. Kit friendly - Currituck County requires doors leading to the pool area be alarmed, and gates block access to the pool area on upper and lower staircases. Fully stocked kitchen with pots, crab pot, roasting pan, electric griddle, salad spinner and mandolin as well as colorful Fiesta Ware and plastic cups and plates for outside use. Pool and deck area lighted for night time use. One bike at the house, but you can rent at the south entrance to the club.
The Currituck Club is a gated, premier community with several pools, golfing, tennis, volleyball and fitness center. There is a new Harris Teeter at the entrance, so groceries don't need to be hauled in. There are also shops in the same complex, a "Maui Wowie" coffee cafe, pizza and fishing supply store. At the south end of the club, you will find 3 restaurants, Metropolis, Gigi's and Smokey's - the best fried chicken and NC BBQ in the area! There is also an ABC store for liquor purchase and Harris Teeter stocks a good assortment of wines and beers. Also try Bacchus up Route 12 for wine and great deli!
Leave your car parked at the house, and hop on one of the trolleys that circle the club daily in season. Concierge service when you reach the beach drop off. Your chairs and coolers are taken to the beach for you. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas and get snacks and drinks at the beach shack - by the way, the beach is dog friendly. This may be the most dog friendly area on the east coast! Coastal Living Magazine recommends the Outer Banks for dog friendly vacations.

Wow! Still reading? Of course, as the name implies, you can walk your dog around the entire Currituck Club. You can bike around, jog, swim in the private pool or the community pools, visit the beach, curl up and soak up some rays, look for shells and dolphins, visit the Corolla Wild Horses, the Currituck Heritage Park with the Whalehead Club and lighthouse. You can also take a ride to Kitty Hawk and visit the Wright Brother monument, or on out to Manteo, the sight of the first English settlement in the US. See the live "Lost Colony" production and visit the fort. See if you can solve the mystery of what happened to Virginia Dare.
Tired? Go and chill on the beach or take day off and relax at the house. If it's winter, relax in front of the gas fireplace.
