This priceless old beach house has weathered all the storms and has
a personality of its own on the quiet non-traffic north beach. It is on the ocean
front block about 110 feet from the beach. Just walk through a very
small yard to watch the sunrise while enjoying your cup of java, lie
in the sun, fish right off the beach, build sand castles, or find
the best fossilized sharks' teeth!
You're also a bike or walk away from Fort Clinch State Park and Main
Beach Park which has putt-putt, a water park, and cozy restaurants.
If you're into a longer walk, head up Atlantic Avenue past the marsh
and light house to the downtown historic Fernandina Beach village
where even music is piped into speakeres along the beautiful winding
sidewalks. There are dozens of shops, restaurants, and a sunset
view at the shrimp boat and cruise ship dock that will take your
breath away! Yes, Fernandina has a gambling/dinner cruise ship that
sets sail twice daily. You can also charter a deep sea fishing
expedition or take an island cruise. Enjoy the carriage ride and
tour of the historic district. And that's not all; you can even go
on a Ghost Telling tour. Have you ever ridden horses on the beach?
You can do that, too.
If you want more...just head out A1A to ride the ferry to Mayport
for some of the best seafood you'll ever eat. Head on over to
Jacksonville for big city shopping and the incredible Jacksonville
Zoo.
