Fairhope is located on Mobile Bay 45 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico
and 20 minutes from downtown Mobile. The charming downtown has
great shops, restaurants and galleries. Fairhope was founded in
1895 as a "Single Tax Colony" in a utopian effort to implement the
theories of economist Henry George.
The first floor has a living room, dining area, kitchen, bedcroom,
and bathroom. The second floor has a bedroom, bathroom, and den.
There is a great front porch for sitting, and a screened-in back
porch furnished in Old Hickory rustic furniture. The house is
furnished in wicker and antiques, and is filled with original art
work. The house was included in the 2002 Historic Fairhope Home
Tour.
