Keystone Vacation Rentals Area Information

Located west of Denver in Summit County, Colorado, Keystone is famous for its snow-sporting activities like skiing and snow-boarding. It is home to one of the major resorts in the state – the Keystone resort, owned by Vail Resorts. The ski area occupies 3 mountains and has organized summer and winter activities. Skiing magazine refers to Keystone as “the ultimate all-things-to-all-skiers resort”. Skiing, ice-skating, snow-boarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and husky dog-sleigh constitute the winter activities while the summer activities are hiking, fishing, biking and trail running. Home to most extreme ice-sports and the legendary night-skiing expeditions, this place is a paradise for skiers and non-skiers alike.

Summer at Keystone witnesses people in the Keystone bike park with its downhill bike trails and casting their lines in Lake Dillon to catch some fish. Festivals, concerts and shows form the media ring in Keystone. On a warm summer day, there’s nothing like riding Keystone’s finest stallions or white-water rafting. Winter proves to be better with the three peaks – Dercum Mountain, the North Peak and the Outback covered in snow, providing for a wonderful skiing experience in Keystone’s ski resort. Seasonal golfing at the Raven Golf Club, the #1 golf course in all of Colorado, is a rich man’s game in the Colorado peaks. Whether you are basking in one of its famous spas or out shopping for alpine clothing at Gorsuch Limited or at Keystone Sports, it’s a rewarding experience.

Strewn with myriad pine trees and cold mountain-air, Keystone proves to be a good winter get-away place. Well connected by roads, getting a rental car or the regular shuttles to Keystone from the nearest airport, Denver International is not a problem. Dining and accommodation poses the least of the problems with Keystone’s spacious hotels and lodges, apart from comfortable homes and condominiums available for rent. Traveling between the various sights of Keystone is made easy by rental cars in the resort.

Keystone is famous for its gourmet festivals organized in the summer and winter alike. Organized by 5280 Magazine, the Keystone Winter Culinary Festival is a treat for gourmet cooking fans, involving wine-tasting, ice-carving and a fine spread of dishes by the best chefs in the state. Aside from the festivals, there are a lot of award-winning restaurants like Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Lodge and Alpenglow Stube. All-American eat-out places like Starbucks and In N’ Out provide for the regular American diet.

Fairways surrounded by lush grass, pine and aspen trees dotted along the well-trimmed slopes, wet grasslands, lakes and miles and miles of snow-capped peaks make Keystone a scenic vacation spot for all seasons.
