Key West Vacation Rentals Area Information
The city of the Key West is the southernmost city of Continental United States. A visit to Key West is a memorable one and your Key West vacation rental should be just as memorable. The Old Town is the western Key West neighborhood and it includes Key West's History District. The classic mansions and bungalows are located in Old Town Key West. Vacation rental homes in this area can get pricey as you see above, but they are vacaiton homes that are well worth the money if you can afford them.The visitors visiting for first time will be in for a surprise here. For every person, Key West has some great attractions. While those who have already visited it will have fond memories of a great Key West holiday spent at one of the Key West vacation rentals or homes. There are many beaches in Key West where fishing, swimming and snorkeling are allowed. There are no lifeguards present on the beaches so one needs to take care of himself and his family while swimming. The fishing is allowed from the beach pier. Not all the beaches are open free to the public but your Key West vacation rental home may be right on a beach front so you won't have to worry about that. Fort Zachary Taylor is one of the best beaches in the area and entry is charged here and there are amenities like public restrooms, chair rentals, food kiosks, BBQs and picnic tables available. Dog Beach and South Beach do not have any amenities. Fishing can be enjoyed at the Rest Beach and it is accessible by wheel chair. The parasailing, windsurfing, game of volleyball and jet skiing can be done at the Smathers beach.
The area is known for saltwater fishing and there are around 225 fish species that stalk the crystal clear waters. The boat for fishing can be hired or one can bring his own boat. There are many types of fishing done in the Key West area. The offshore fishing, flats fishing, and group charter fishing are some of the fishing methods.
There area many ship wrecks in the waters of Key West and only some of these are available to the visitors. Proper certification is required for diving and snorkeling in the area. There are many charter cruises available for scuba divers and snorkelers. San Key Lighthouse Reef near Key West is a ten mile reef system and is place frequented by snorkelers and scuba divers. Ten-Fathom Ledger has many caves and overhangs and it is refuge for different marine life like grouper and lobsters.
The best thing about Key West is that you can come here at any time in the year; there will be always some event or other going on. Although your Key West vacation rental home will be fabulous, you may spend more time at events then you do inside. The event calendar is full from January to December with different fishing tournaments and there is a Fantasy Fest, a local festival held every October and this is one festival that is sure not to be missed. Outdoor dining is a favorite here as restaurants offer a great view. Bars are plenty in the area.
Key West is a place where you can enjoy yourself and there are many accommodations here for all types of travelers. There are some of the most expensive inns, guesthouses, resorts and of course vacation rentals that have beautiful landscapes. Staying in these places makes you forget you are in the Old Town of Key West. Budget accommodations are also available in Key West though so never fear. There's something here for everyone!
